What is Autonomous Economic Agent (AEA)?
Let's find out Autonomous Economic Agent (AEA) meaning, definition in crypto, what is Autonomous Economic Agent (AEA), and all other detailed facts.
AEAs are software entities created by Fetch.ai and the IOTA foundation. They can act on their own, without the need for external input, for the benefit of their owners. Fetch.ai is a blockchain-based artificial intelligence platform that uses AEAs to connect with other AI applications to process real-time data and take actions based on it.
AEAs connect to IOTA Streams, allowing economic agents to act autonomously by sharing and retrieving real-time data. Financial markets that require taking fast actions for higher profits are one of the main spheres where AEAs are used.
Note that autonomous economic agents aren’t smart contracts or APIs. However, they autonomously follow some rules without any external input. Besides, developers can create their own AEAs on the blockchain.
Though the term economic agent is usually used in different contexts. It typically refers to a person who engages in economic activity such as purchasing goods and services or selling financial assets. An economic agent, in a broader sense, is any person, group, or entity that makes decisions about the distribution of scarce resources.
In recent years, however, the term has been expanded to include non-human agents such as bots. Given its growing popularity in this context, it's worthwhile to dig deeper into the concept of an autonomous economic agent.
An autonomous agent, in its most basic sense, means that the agent is capable to self-govern. In other words, it can control its own actions. Besides, since an autonomous agent is not subject to external control or supervision, it must have its own objectives that it pursues using self-generated means.
These features can be quickly recognized by professional economists as the cornerstones of any economic theory that deals with rational behavior by economic actors. The notion that all economic players are rational actors who follow their own personal interests without any external guidance or influence from outside sources is a basic premise in neo-classical economics.
The ADX is a non-directional indicator. This means that it determines the market trend strength regardless of which direction the prices are fluctuating towards. To assess the strength of the prices moving in positive and negative directions, the Directional Movement System (DMI+ and DMI- indicators) is utilized.

The ADX is represented by a line using figures from 0 to 100. It is typically shown in the same window as the two lines known as directional movement indicators (DMI). DMIs are used to calculate the ADX.

How to Calculate the Average Directional Index (ADX):

1. Calculate Directional Movement (+DM) using the formula:

+DM = Current High - Previous High

2. Calculate -DM using:

-DM = Previous Low - Current Low

3. Select between +DM and -DM based on which option has the higher value.

4. Calculate the True Range (TR) using one of the following:

Current high - Current low; Current low - Previous close; Current high - Previous close

5. Calculate the smoothed 14-period averages of the TR, the +DM, and –DM using:

First 14TR = Sum of first 14 TR readings

Next 14TR = first 14TR – (prior 14TR/14) + current TR

6. Calculate the +DI and -DM values using:

+DI = (Smoothed +DM / ATR) x 100

-DI = (Smoothed -DM / ATR) x 100

7. Calculate the directional movement index (DMI) using the equation:

DX = ( | +DI - -DI | / | +DI + -DI | ) x 100

8. Calculating ADX requires the DX for all 14 periods. To calculate the first ADX, divide the sum of all 14 periods of DX by 14. For the remaining 13, use the formula:

ADX = (Previous ADX x 13) + Current ADX) / 14

The process of computing the ADX is entirely automated, so there is no need to manually apply the formulas to calculate the final indicator.

Other commonly used indicators in trading are the <a href=https://www.bitdegree.org/"//crypto//learn//crypto-terms//what-is-accumulation-distribution-indicator/">Accumulation//Distribution Indicator, <a href=https://www.bitdegree.org/"//crypto//learn//crypto-terms//what-is-moving-average-convergence-divergence-macd/">Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), <a href=https://www.bitdegree.org/"//crypto//learn//crypto-terms//what-is-on-balance-volume-obv/">On-Balance Volume (OBV), and <a href=https://www.bitdegree.org/"//crypto//learn//crypto-terms//what-is-relative-strength-index-rsi/">Relative Strength Index (RSI).

an indicator used to measure the strength of a market trend.
